I can see how closing could have positively affected Nick from a business standpoint, but along with what to most of us longtime fans seemed to be a lack of originality, lead to something negative instead. We could take some sort of action, and judging by the activity and amount of posts on this thread, other hardcore fans of Monkey Quest are still out there, though either unaware of this site, have shunned themselves from the community either because they think MQ is dead, that they are alone, or have simply turned their backs on or decided to ignore that one part of their life because of other reasons.
MONKEY QUEST 2015 CODE
While hosting a game on personal servers using the code would be near impossible due to the resourced required and could possibly even be considered copyright infringement, I will not deny I had the same thoughts, at one point and someone with the appropriate equipment could theoretically use the code as a base code for something new for the rest of us, or host a small, private server. I still feel grief, and agree that Nickelodeon is on a decline, mostly due to shows that seem childish and repetitive, and to me, annoying. I checked back on this wiki out of sheer boredom, and the pressure of anxiety of moving on to high school next year, and was surprised to find an active thread with a title with the words I was thinking as I typed in this address.
I soon signed up, and playing greatly reduced my trauma. I started when I went through a car crash that condemned the car I had used virtually since birth, and I saw the ad on the hotel television. I was extremely depressed seeing this, and on closing day, despite me already being far older than when I started, cried. I recently checked back (not that recently) and found the closing message on the site, and desperately tried to play, but much to my dismay, my unity was acting up, which occurs to this day, rendering the game unplayable for me. I played, although I slowed down shortly after said event. I had a bit of a hiatus for around a year, and when I came back, the updates leading up to the "Party Failure" as some now call it.
I have been playing MQ since beta, before new players got sticks (or so I've heard) instead of slingshots.
